Overview

Cipher is a highly flexible Nihility amplifier / sub-DPS who provides permanent Vulnerability while storing part of the team's damage for a massive True DMG Ultimate. She fits into almost any damage-focused team.

Role

Universal Amplifier / Sub-DPS

Playstyle

Mark the main enemy as Patron, let your team attack and build Cipher's damage tally, then use Ultimate when the stored damage is worth cashing out. She can mostly Basic ATK after establishing her target, making her very SP-efficient.

Why It Works

Cipher effectively reuses damage your team already dealt. At 170 SPD she doubles the amount of damage recorded by her Talent, then converts that stored value into True DMG that ignores most normal damage mitigation.

Watch For

170 SPD is extremely important. Don't immediately Ultimate whenever it becomes available either; using it too early clears your stored tally and can waste a large portion of Cipher's potential.

Playstyle

Combat Flow

Mark Patron → allies attack → Cipher FuA → build stored damage → continue stacking → Ultimate / True DMG nuke → rebuild tally → repeat.

Key Notes

  • Aim for 170+ SPD in combat above everything else. After that, offensive CRIT stats are optional because a large part of Cipher's contribution comes from her stored damage rather than her normal attacks.

  • All enemies permanently take 40% more DMG while Cipher is on field.

  • Allies attacking Patron trigger Cipher's Follow-Up, once per Cipher turn.

Build & Investment

Light Cones

Primary

Lies Dance on the Breeze

Adds SPD and attack-triggered DEF reduction. Reaching 170 SPD enables the additional Theft debuff; both debuffs still use a base application chance.

Relics

Primary

Messenger Traversing Hackerspace

Use two pieces for SPD and combine with another SPD two-piece while reaching 170 SPD. Cipher's enemy-targeting Ultimate cannot activate the four-piece team SPD effect.

Main Stats

Body

  • Effect Hit Rate
  • AlternativeCRIT DMG

When using a chance-based debuff that still needs Effect Hit Rate.

Personal-damage option after Effect Hit Rate needs are met.

Feet

  • SPD

Reach the 170 SPD tally and CRIT Rate threshold, then use faster turns to refresh her follow-up trigger. Patron is assigned automatically when none is present.

Sphere

  • Quantum DMG Boost
  • SituationalHP%

Personal-damage sphere.

Defensive support alternative.

Rope

  • Energy Regeneration Rate
  • AlternativeATK%

Preferred for more frequent recorded-damage cashouts.

Personal-damage alternative if energy cadence is already stable.

Recommended Substats

  1. SPD
  2. Effect Hit Rate
  3. CRIT Rate
  4. CRIT DMG
  5. ATK%

Prioritize the SPD needed for Empyrean Strides, especially its 170-SPD tier, then the Effect Hit Rate required by the selected debuffs. For personal damage, balance CRIT after counting the trace's CRIT Rate; a support build can use HP and DEF instead of extra damage stats.

Eidolon Investment

E0 already records damage and provides her fieldwide damage-taken increase. Secure the SPD threshold and a useful Ultimate release window before investing in stronger tallies or further debuffs.

Lies Dance on the Breeze adds SPD and applies DEF-reduction debuffs after attacks. Its second debuff requires 170 SPD, and both effects have base application chances; gear must support the threshold and reliable application.

E1

Multiplies the damage tally by 1.5 and grants a large ATK buff after her Talent follow-up.

E2

Hits have a 120% base chance to apply a further damage-taken increase for two turns. This adds a debuff rather than a guaranteed new damage multiplier in every hit.

Teams

Debuff carry core

Cipher amplifies incoming damage and tallies Acheron's attacks, while Jiaoqiu supplies recurring debuff applications. Cipher's Skill can add Weaken; her follow-ups do not inherently apply another debuff.
