Overview

Mortenax Blade is a powerful Nihility support / sub-DPS who combines massive team amplification with strong HP-scaling damage. Once his Ultimate activates Infinite Fury, he becomes far more aggressive while continuously debuffing enemies.

Role

Amplifier / Sub-DPS

Playstyle

Build toward Ultimate, activate his Zone, then let the team attack frequently to generate Charge. At 9 Charge, Blade automatically launches a free Skill and restores a large amount of Energy.

Why It Works

His Ultimate applies 30% DEF reduction + 50% Vulnerability, while his Zone gives allies another 50% DMG increase. Frequent ally attacks continuously refresh his debuff and accelerate his own Follow-Up attacks.

Watch For

His strongest kit only exists while Infinite Fury is active. He also constantly consumes HP, and his Skill cannot activate at 1 HP, so keeping him healthy matters.

Playstyle

Combat Flow

Build Energy → Ultimate → Infinite Fury → allies attack → build 9 Charge → free Skill/FuA → regain Energy → Enhanced Ultimate → repeat.

Key Notes

  • Aim for 100% CRIT Rate in combat, 6000+ HP, and around 134+ SPD, with 160+ as a stronger target.

  • Infinite Fury grants 20% CRIT Rate + 60% CRIT DMG.

  • If killed during Infinite Fury, he instead survives, heals, and ends the Zone.

Build & Investment

Light Cones

Signature

Reforged in Hellfire

All-purpose signature option that combines first-wave Energy with HP and CRIT-oriented amplification.

F2P

Before the Tutorial Mission Starts

Available from Herta's Store. Its Energy refund requires attacking a DEF-reduced enemy; before Mortenax's first Ultimate, another debuffer may need to supply that condition.

Relics

Primary

Divine-Querying Master Smith

Adds Max HP and CRIT DMG against DEF-reduced enemies. Applying Balefire Bind enables its team damage buff; further attacks allow the effect to trigger again.

Alternative

Longevous Disciple

Adds HP and gains CRIT Rate when Mortenax is hit or has HP consumed; healing alone does not trigger its stacks.

Situational

Eagle of Twilight Line

An action-timing option: Ultimate advances Mortenax by 25%. Its Wind DMG two-piece does not improve his Fire attacks.

Planars

Situational

Sprightly Vonwacq

Setup option when early action and Energy matter more than personal damage.

Main Stats

Body

  • CRIT Rate
  • AlternativeCRIT DMG

CRIT Rate is still needed after counting Infinite Fury.

The in-combat CRIT Rate target is already covered.

Feet

  • SPD
  • AlternativeHP%

For more personal actions and faster setup.

A slower personal-damage setup with sufficient action support.

Sphere

  • HP%

For HP-scaled damage and durability.

Rope

  • Energy Regeneration Rate
  • AlternativeHP%

Ultimate cadence is the priority.

Energy cadence is already sufficient.

Recommended Substats

  1. CRIT Rate
  2. CRIT DMG
  3. SPD
  4. HP%

For personal damage, balance CRIT after Infinite Fury's bonuses, then tune SPD and add HP. A support setup can prioritize SPD first. Effect Hit Rate is a Light Cone requirement when using chance-based debuffs, not a requirement for his native Balefire Bind.

Eidolon Investment

E0 already supplies Balefire Bind and the attack-fed Zone loop. Establish reliable healing and Zone access first; E1 extends its uptime, while E2 changes how allied damaging Ultimates interact with follow-up effects.

Reforged in Hellfire adds HP and fixed Energy on the first wearer turn of each wave. Skill attacks apply Purgatory, increasing received CRIT DMG with an extra benefit for Mortenax's own attacks.

E1

While the Zone lasts, reduces all enemies' All-Type RES by 20%. Each extra Skill from his Talent delays the Infinite Fury countdown by 15%.

E2

Ally characters' damaging Ultimates count as follow-up attacks, allied follow-up damage increases by 75%, and his Charge requirement falls to seven.

E6

During the Zone, taking damage or consuming HP grants one Charge, with the trigger resetting after any target's turn ends. Tenax Per Ignem deals 150% of its original damage.

Teams

Acheron

Repeated debuffs and Ultimate amplification align with Acheron's damage plan.

Ashveil

His frequent attacks accelerate his Charge loop while both contribute follow-up pressure.

Tribbie

Her follow-ups feed his Charge, while his repeated AoE attacks help charge her Ultimate.

Hyacine

Adds Max HP and contributes frequent attacks from the sustain slot.
