Account Progression

Choose useful upgrades as your account develops. Build a functional roster, understand investment priorities, and know when to start optimizing.

Progress opens options; investment makes them usable

Trailblaze Level, story progress and Equilibrium govern account access. Character levels, Traces and equipment govern what your team can do with that access. Raising the account’s level does not automatically finish a Character’s build.

Work on both tracks. Follow the missions that open your next activity, while keeping a small team ready to handle the fights along the way. When progress stalls, identify whether the obstacle is an unmet unlock requirement or an underprepared roster.

The best next upgrade is usually the one that solves a visible problem. A healer unable to keep an ally alive and an attacker missing their important Trace need different investments, even on accounts at the same level.

Build one functional team before many unfinished ones

Choose a damage plan and the allies that make it work. Give them usable equipment, develop their important abilities, and provide enough sustain to complete encounters. Spreading every new material across the entire roster can leave nobody ready for the next challenge.

This does not mean spending every resource on one attacker. A support who cannot maintain a needed buff or a sustain who cannot survive can stop the whole team. Invest enough in each role to make the sequence reliable; then improve its main damage source further.

Use Team-building Fundamentals to define those jobs, and the Characters directory to read the actual abilities before choosing what to level.

Separate predictable upgrades from random ones

Character and Light Cone leveling, ascension and selected Trace upgrades have known requirements and benefits. A new Relic drop may or may not improve the build. Check the unfinished predictable upgrades before repeatedly farming for a small random gain.

Character level and ascensionDevelop base stats and open further progression.Am I at a cap, and what does the next ascension unlock for this kit?
Light Cone level and ascensionImprove the equipped cone’s base stats. Is the cone suitable for this Character before I invest further?
TracesImprove specific abilities or unlock bonuses.Which ability or bonus makes the team’s plan function?
Relic enhancementStrengthens the piece already equipped.Does its main stat serve the wearer well enough to justify leveling it?
Relic farmingOffers possible replacements. What specific missing stat or set effect am I trying to obtain?

Do not level every Trace evenly by habit. Read what improves at the next level and how often you use that ability. A mostly unused attack and a crucial healing or support effect do not have the same priority. Major Trace unlocks can also change how the kit functions rather than simply add a larger number.

Check the equipment before paying to improve it

A Light Cone contributes base stats, but its ability requires the correct Path and its own trigger conditions. Higher level does not fix an incompatible ability. Light Cone fundamentals separates leveling from Superimposition.

Let the current game show you the next unlock

Use the material’s acquisition information to find its source and the activity’s displayed requirements to see what is missing. Story completion and Equilibrium missions can matter alongside account level. For example, Stagnant Shadow access requires the relevant Equilibrium mission, not merely reaching a number on the Trailblaze Level bar.

Before an Equilibrium trial, check the active team’s levels, equipment and core abilities. Prepare the parts you actually rely on. There is no need to finish every unused Character before progressing, but opening harder content does not remove the need to develop the team that will play it.

Spend Trailblaze Power toward a concrete near-term upgrade. Check current activity rewards and available bonuses rather than following an old level-by-level farming calendar. A plan based on an obsolete unlock or reward table can waste time even when the underlying build advice is sound.

Make Relics functional before making them exceptional

Early on, equip pieces with relevant main stats and enough enhancement to support the team. A useful imperfect piece can carry you through progression. Do not leave the roster weak while waiting for a complete set with ideal substats.

Deeper optimization becomes more worthwhile once core levels, equipment and important Traces are in place, the relevant farming difficulty is available, and you know which stats the build needs. That is a readiness check, not a single mandatory account level.

Set a goal before spending: a missing main stat, enough SPD for an intended order, or better useful substats. Compare replacements against the whole build, including what you lose. The Relic Stats guide covers that evaluation; the Relics directory provides set effects.

Expand when a new teammate solves a real gap

After the first team works, add flexibility deliberately: another damage pattern, a better defensive response, or a second usable lineup for activities that require one. Building one of every Element is not a substitute for understanding what those Characters need around them.

Budget for the complete addition. A new attacker may need supports, a compatible Light Cone and different Relics. Developing an already-owned ally can sometimes unlock a team more directly than beginning another expensive project.

Returning players can start from what already works

Try an existing team in the content you want to resume before replacing it. Check current Kit descriptions, new unlocks and the game’s available returner benefits. Starlit Homecoming can offer eligible players assistance, including Character Support; eligibility and available rewards should be checked in your current event screen.

Choose one goal for the next session: open a material source, finish an important Trace, or make a team reliable. Use that result to choose the next investment. You do not need a perfect account-wide farming schedule to make useful progress today.
