Separate the ordinary input from the follow-up
A Dash Attack follows a dodge, while a Dodge Counter requires a Perfect Dodge. Both are separate from the ordinary Basic Attack sequence. Knowing which action you are using helps you connect attacks and activate the right bonuses.
Billy’s shooting sequence and Dodge Counter have their own inputs and scaling. When an equipment effect names a particular attack, check that your follow-up is that action rather than another move in the same family.

Read the Agent’s assist type
Assists have different jobs. Quick Assist, Defensive or Evasive Assist, and Assist Follow-Up each have their own timing or prompt. Switching Agents alone is not the same as triggering one of these actions.
Anby’s Defensive Assist parries an incoming attack and deals Daze; Billy uses an Evasive Assist instead. Each has a follow-up available after the assist, so changing your squad can change how you defend and return to attacking.
Use transitions that the kit actually grants
Practice the starting action and its follow-up together. A Perfect Dodge leads to a different opportunity from a Quick Assist or an Assist Follow-Up, even if each helps you reposition or continue attacking.
Invulnerability and interruption resistance apply during the actions that grant them. Check where that protection ends before committing to the next move, especially when an enemy can interrupt a longer sequence.
