Start with the enemy’s affinity
Reload distinguishes Slash, Strike and Pierce as separate physical types, alongside Fire, Ice, Electricity, Wind, Light and Dark. An enemy that resists one physical type does not necessarily resist the others.
Aim for a weakness when you want a reliable knockdown. Resistances still matter on later actions, so check the target before choosing an attack merely because it is powerful.
Pass the opportunity to the right teammate
Shift transfers a 1 More to another party member. Use it when that teammate has the damage type, healing or support that the encounter needs. This is Reload’s own system, not Royal’s Baton Pass rank system.
Finish the setup
An All-Out Attack is available when all enemies have been knocked down. Work toward that shared opening rather than treating each party member’s attack in isolation. When the party needs recovery, use the extra action to stabilize the fight before committing to damage.
