Combat Fundamentals

Plan weaknesses, healing and extra turns around Reload’s party commands and Theurgy.

Turn weaknesses into extra actions

Striking an enemy’s weakness knocks it down and grants a 1 More. Reload’s Shift lets you pass that extra action to an ally, so a party with several damage types can reach weaknesses that the current character cannot cover.

Once every enemy is down, an All-Out Attack becomes available. Check the remaining enemies before spending an extra action: knocking down a fresh target may give the party a better opportunity than attacking an enemy already on the floor.

Build coverage around the protagonist

The protagonist can use multiple Personas, while other party members have their own Persona. A Persona’s affinities, skills and stats matter together. A strong attack does not make a weakness disappear, so keep healing and defensive coverage available as well.

The compendium lists each Persona’s base stats and learned skills. Those are starting values, not a prediction of the stats on a Persona you have already developed.

Keep Theurgy in your plan

Theurgy is separate from ordinary skills. Each party member has a bonus charging condition tied to their role, and the protagonist unlocks techniques through specific Persona pairs. Consult the Theurgy reference for each technique’s effect rather than treating every gauge as the same attack.
