Artifact Main Stats & Substats

Start with the slot

A Flower has flat HP as its main stat; a Plume has flat ATK. Sands, Goblets and Circlets have variable main stats, with different available choices. The slot determines which main stats are possible.

Substats are a separate contribution

An artifact cannot have a substat identical to its main stat. A percentage stat and its flat counterpart are different stats. Leveling raises the main stat and, at upgrade milestones, adds or increases substats within the rarity’s limits.

Assess the completed stat line. A set name does not tell you which substats rolled, and a desirable substat does not make an unsuitable main stat equivalent to the intended one.

Choose stats for the actual build

Use the kit’s scaling and intended role to choose the variable slots. An HP-scaling healer, a Burst attacker and a reaction trigger have different reasons to choose HP, ER, CRIT or EM. A stat can be useful without being the preferred main stat in every slot.

Treat Energy needs as part of the build. If a Burst is unavailable in the next rotation, extra damage stats do not repair that missing cast.

Then account for the set effect

Main stats and substats belong to the individual piece; set bonuses depend on the equipped combination. Evaluate both. Emblem of Severed Fate’s Burst bonus uses ER, but that does not establish an unlimited reason to stack ER or an exact target for every Burst attacker.

Compare the whole equipped build, including the fifth piece and conditional bonuses. This article does not prescribe farming routes, drop odds or a universal artifact score.
