Read the five base stats
Each compendium entry shows the Persona’s stats at its starting level. Leveling, incense and other growth can change the values in your save.

Read the damage response
A weakness exposes the Persona to that damage type. Resist reduces it, Null prevents it, Repel returns it and Drain turns it into recovery. A neutral response has none of those special protections.
The protagonist’s currently equipped Persona determines their affinities. Check those defenses before ending a turn, especially when facing enemies with known elemental attacks.
Keep growth methods distinct
Incense and Major Arcana effects can raise Persona stats. A portion of those gains can carry through fusion. Arcade stat gains do not carry through fusion, so do not assume every improvement transfers in the same way.
