Overview

Kaeya leaves Cryo icicles around the active character after a brief setup. He offers off-field damage and application, but close-range positioning and enemies’ Freeze resistance affect his uptime.

Role

Off-field Cryo damage, application and particle support.

Playstyle

Use brief Skill visits, then leave his Burst around the active attacker.

Why It Works

His Burst follows the attacker. Freezing enemies with the Skill can generate extra particles.

Watch For

Not every enemy can be Frozen. C1 improves his Normal and Charged attacks, not off-field Burst damage.

Playstyle

Combat Flow

Establish the intended Hydro or Cryo support effects, use Frostgnaw to generate particles, then cast Glacial Waltz and switch. Keep the active Character within reach of enemies so the orbiting icicles connect. Return for Skill casts as the rotation permits.

Key Notes

  • The passive’s extra particles depend on Frostgnaw causing Freeze; do not budget them against an unfreezable target.

  • A Reverse Melt build needs sustained Pyro and different EM considerations. It is not interchangeable with the Freeze build described here.

  • Stay close enough for the orbiting icicles to connect.

  • C2 extension depends on defeats; bosses do not guarantee it.
